About Victor T. Stephens
"Do not let your peace depend on the hearts of men; whatever they say about you, good or bad, you are not because of it another man, for as you are, you are." ~ Thomas a'Kempis
We must tackle the serious issue of how long those who seek God's Truth will walk in brotherhood with those who have deviated from Truth. Division is often met with reprimand in the name of love and tolerance. Appeasement to political correctness rather than an adherence to biblical correctness is the dominate order of our day. Godly love and truth causes division ... separating the narrow path of Truth from the wide road of error and ungodly concession.
Today, it is incumbent that true believers in Christ proceed with caution so that they do not give support and sanction those who have betrayed the Lord. Regrettably, many naive people wink at doctrinal transgressions as long as it is perpetrated by a captivating, kind, and amorous 'man of God'. Ministers of darkness cloaked as angels of light are conveniently undiscerned. Let true believers judge righteously and take heed to the words of Paul:
"For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears." (Acts 20:29-31)
~ Victor T. Stephens
Victor T. Stephens was born on April 24, 1955 in Suffolk, Virginia. On account of unfortunate circumstances, he was separated from his parents and relocated to Queens, New York in 1963. There, he was educated at Public School 147, Linden Jr. High School, and Andrew Jackson High School. As a young child and teen, he was indifferent to his education, but greatly enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and going to the movie theater.
After graduating from high school in June of 1973, Victor was employed by Loeb, Rhoades, & Company ... a stock brokerage firm on Wall Street in lower Manhattan, New York City. Discontented with a minimum wage salary, he elected to return to school to pursue a higher degree. At the age of 19, he began his university education at Queensborough College in Bayside, New York where he was awarded an Associate in Applied Science degree in Electronics Technology.
Upon graduating in 1978, he briefly engaged in modelling and acting training at the Kahali Modelling School in Harlem, New York. Shortly thereafter, he began a career with the United States Postal Service in Flushing, New York. After eight years, he transferred to the Washington, D.C. Post Office. He was also employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Capital Heights, Maryland for four years. In his quest to find affordable living and a safe environment, in 1990 he transferred to the North Metro Postal Service in Duluth, Georgia where he retired in October, 2009 after 31 years of service.
Established as a man of few words, Mr. Stephens is a reserved and opinionated individual. Amidst a blend of strengths and infirmities, his character also encompasses shades of shyness, boldness, and a youthful sense of humor. He is very passionate about his hobbies, beliefs, and the moral fabric of our society. While preferring peace and solitude, he also finds comfort with true friends of ethical character. At the core of his heart, Mr. Stephens is a loving and faithful man. However, on account of his inherent reserved demeanor and intolerance for perfidious conduct, he is sometimes misconceived as unfriendly.
Mr. Stephens is not a "religious" man, but rather a truth seeking spiritual Christian. He rejects mainstream counterfeit "Christianity" and the false doctrines/traditions of men in preference for the absolute truth of God's Word. Embarrassingly, Mr. Stephens is a former member of World Changers Church International. After several years, the Lord opened his eyes to His truth and he withdrew from the aberrant teachings of Creflo Dollar. In the words of Mr. Stephens, "I elected to accept the Berean model by searching the scriptures for myself (Acts 17:11) ... asking God for wisdom to understand where I could accurately discern what is taught from the pulpit. After much profound study and research, I have ascertained that most churches today have, unfortunately, deviated from the truths of the Bible; and thus, cannot be classified as the true Church of Christ."
Without political correctness, Mr. Stephens is now a defender of truth; accepting his commission to expose false teachings within the church while concurrently encouraging others in sound doctrine. Exercising his passion for writing and website design, he has written several articles and created this site to directly address some malevolent doctrines within many of today's modern churches. Victor is nearing the completion of his first book that will address the topic of church tithing. The book will be a vastly expanded version of his article, "A Closer Look at Tithing."
