Signs of the Times
By: Urbano M. Chavez
Jesus was asked about the signs of his coming. (Matthew 24:3)
Brace yourself the truth is kind of numbing.
In reply this is what he had to say.
It sounds so much like today.
Men shall be lovers of pleasure, not of God, disobedient to parents. (II Timothy 3:2-4)
Their conscience dulled by sin, thinking they’re inerrant. (I Timothy 4:1-2)
Many will be offended by the mention of his name. (Matthew 24:9-10)
They will glory not in goodness, but rather in their shame.
There will be wars and rumors of wars throughout the land. (Matthew 24:6)
The gospel will be preached, to every nation of man. (Matthew 24:14)
Earthquakes throughout the world in many different places.
Starvation like never before, a sea of hungry faces. (Matthew 24:7)
Men with men, woman with woman, leaving the natural affection. (Romans 1:24)
Doing things behind closed doors, not worthy to be mentioned. (Ephesians 5:12)
As in the days of Noah, as in the days of old. (Matthew 24:37)
The love of many will grow cold. (Matthew 24:12)
The earth will be filled with violence, evil in every nation. (Genesis 6:11)
Great wickedness, evil thoughts in the playground of their imagination. (Genesis 6:5)
Signs in the heavens and on the earth, like none ever seen.
Men’s hearts will fail them from fear, no this is not a dream. (Luke 21:26)
A microchip under the skin perhaps, a mark in the hand or the forehead, is a surety.
No man will buy or sell without it, all in the name of security. (Revelations 13:16-17)
Knowledge will be on the increase, as never before. (Daniel 12:4)
Not intellect but purity of heart in Him is what He is coming for.
Jesus said the generation that sees these things, will not pass away. (Matthew 24:33-34)
He could come anytime soon, maybe even today.
His coming will be as a thief in the night. (I Thessalonians 5:2)
Believers will vanish from within others sight. (Matthew 24:40)
Do not be mistaken, when he comes, it will be for His own. (John 14:1-3)
He must be alive in your heart and seated on your hearts throne. (I Peter 3:15)
If this message stirs up fear, maybe you need a new start.
As for me I’ll be ready when he comes, because he’s alive in my heart. (Matthew 24:45-46)
Jesus said my sheep know my voice; they follow me, not after gold. (John 10:26-27)
Do you hear the voice of the Shepherd, or are you out of the fold?
“… and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.” (Matthew 16:3)
"Such are the conditions prior to Judgment Day. We need to learn from this and not fret when we see these things happening, but say: Christ predicted beforehand that the world become so savage, coarse, greedy, and so on. Well then! That's the way it is, and it is even going to get worst." ~ Martin Luther
*Author's Note: As I read about the end times it so eerily seems like today, and rightfully so as we truly are living in what the bible calls "The time of the end". For the sinners it is a scary thing, for the Saints it is a fulfilled promise.
